2008 OC Fair Commercial Competition

 

Best of Show – Sparkling Wines

A "Best of Show" was awarded based on the overall score and medal recommendations of the judges in price levels premium, high, medium, and low for the following categories: Red Varietals, White Varietals, Sparkling Wines, and Dessert Wines.

Special Recognition  4-Star Gold Medal Awards

This special recognition indicates that the wine received a gold medal recommendation from four judges on a panel. Since this is not a "consensus judging", i.e., the judges do not confer among themselves to determine what recommendation they will make, but arrive at their recommendation individually, a rare occurrence indeed. This year, out of total of 3287 entries, only 22 wines received this prestigious honor.
